Now when you think of shinty, you think of being up in the dizzy heights of Northern Scotland, however Musselburgh has its very own shinty club playing in the Honest Toun and a very successful one at that.
Tayforth Camanachd are a shinty team originally from Perth in Scotland but now playing at Levenhall Links, Musselburgh. In 2016, the club finished at the top of South Division 2 gaining promotion and also retained the Bullough Cup again in 2016.
The club are now gearing up for the 2017 season and have already started pre-season training at Peffermill on the 3G and which is open to any Shinty players based in the city looking to train.
On Saturday 18th February there is a pre-season friendly against Aberdeen University taking place at Levenhall Links (just behind Musselburgh Racecourse) with one other pre-season game being finalised. Pop along and see the guys in action – its FREE!
The Club are also in the process of setting up a Ladies Team who will be playing in the Development League and Challenge Cup for the 2017 season. If you want to get involved either with the men’s or ladies team or want more information, contact the club through their Facebook page here.
